when you abstain from foods that interfere with the natural healing physiology of your body, cleansing and detoxing begins. the body’s biochemistry evolved over millions of years. one of the laws governing the body is that it will function optimally if what we eat what is consistent with our biochemical make-up. a diet consisting almost entirely of raw fruits and vegetable, nuts, seeds, and very little amounts of certain grains, given a chance in the right environment, can do amazing things. on the other hand, the body has an extraordinary capacity to adapt to toxic foods and desensitize itself so that we are not aware of what’s actually happening to us, i.e., we are getting sick!
